Digital Story Video: Solace in Solitude

My digital story explores what it is to be hyper-independent and how that has shaped me as a person. The focus of my piece will explore the push and pull of how independence is my favourite, yet least favourite thing about myself. The contrast of how independence has helped me, yet held me back throughout my life. For example, how it enables me to take exciting solo trips, but my aversion to dependency makes me hesitant to ask for help. Thirdly, the feeling of liberation in my independence and yet isolation due to a lack of dependency. Finally, feeling safe when choosing to be independent, yet unsafe due to dependency.

The piece explores the feelings of anxiety and confusion dealing with the pushes and pulls, finding a sentiment that resonates and learning how to take advantage of the positives and actively work on the drawbacks.
